Remember that weight loss programs don’t have to take place at the gym. A lot of people don’t want to deal with signing up for a gym, fighting traffic and working out alongside strangers. The good news is that you don’t have to. You can work out and lose weight just about anywhere. If you’re not the type of person who likes going to the gym, there are other options.

Walk. It sounds simple, but adding more walking to your every day life can help you lose weight. Walk to the store instead of driving. Walk up the stairs instead of taking the elevator. Rather than sitting in a coffee shop talking to a friend, take your coffees to go and walk together. Every little bit matters.

Weight loss programs work best with friends. As mentioned above, going for a walk with a friend is a great idea. So is going for a bike ride or a swim or taking part in any number of other activities. You’ll have much more fun if you’re exercising with a friend and it will be easier to stay motivated as well. Eat well. It’s not just about exercise. Weight loss programs also involve healthy eating. Try to cut down on the amount of processed food that you eat. These foods are usually filled with calories, salt, sugar and bad fats. Instead, focus on making more meals from scratch. If this sounds tough, start slow. A good place to begin is by adding more fresh vegetables and fruit to your diet. Have baby carrots or sliced celery as a snack instead of chips. Eat an apple instead of a piece of candy. Your body will thank you.
