Fall Fun To Keep You Active

Fall Fun To Keep You Active

fall-fun-active-healthy

Fall is here! Between the leaves changing color, the days getting shorter, and pumpkin spice everything appearing all over the place, all of the signs are there. However, that doesn’t mean that the outdoor fun has to stop! It also doesn’t mean that it’s time to snuggle up in a sweater and avoid exercising again until spring.

Here are a few ideas for fun fall activities that can keep you in great shape.

Long Walks in Nature

Fall colours are absolutely beautiful. At this time of year, walking through the woods or hiking on trails gives you incredible scenery to look at. Take advantage of this time to enjoy the sights while staying in shape. You’ll appreciate the fall colours much more if you’re walking through them instead of watching them through the windows as you drive. Plus, you’ll get some exercise.

Apple Picking

This is a great activity for the whole family. Gather up the whole group and head to an orchard for some apple picking. Not only is it fun and great exercise, but apples are a very healthy food. When you’re done picking, you’ll have a whole bunch of nutritious goodness to enjoy!

Visit a Pumpkin Patch

This is another excellent fall activity that is fun for all ages. Instead of buying your pumpkin from the store before Halloween, head out to a nearby pumpkin patch and pick one yourself. Also, when you’re done carving it, don’t throw out the seeds! Instead, toast them and eat them. Pumpkin seeds are very nutritious and high in magnesium, protein and fiber.

Play Some Football

For many people, fall is synonymous with football season. However, that doesn’t just mean sitting in front of the TV and watching the game. This fall, why not get outside and play some football with your friends and family? It’s great exercise and you’ll have a lot of fun too!

Yard Work

Yard work may not be the most fun fall activity, but it’s certainly rewarding and it can be good for your health. Just make sure that you use proper tools and correct posture when raking leaves or picking up debris. It’s also important to stay hydrated and take breaks as necessary.

Have a great fall!
