Why Am I So Tired?

Why Am I So Tired & What Can I Do About It?

All of us feel tired sometimes. Life is busy and there’s usually a lot going on. However, if you feel tired on a daily basis or if you’re constantly feeling run down or exhausted, it might be time to make some changes in your life.

Many cases of chronic fatigue can be resolved or improved through lifestyle or dietary changes. Here are a few reasons that you may feel tired all the time and what you can do to improve the situation.

You’re Not Getting Enough Sleep

Perhaps the most obvious cause of fatigue is not getting enough quality sleep. Sleep is critical for many reasons. Most adults need to get around 7 or 8 hours of quality sleep each night. This is what you should aim for on a regular basis.

If you’re having trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, consider some lifestyle changes such as consuming less caffeine, ensuring you maintain a similar sleep schedule every night, putting away devices and other bright lights before bedtime, and creating a dark and relaxing environment in your bedroom.

You’re Not Eating a Balanced Diet

Even if you’re getting enough sleep, you still need to take care of your body in other ways. One way includes eating a balanced diet that includes all essential vitamins and nutrients.

Don’t forget about water either. If you’re not drinking enough water throughout the day, this can leave you feeling fatigued.

You’re Too Sedentary

Working out can make your body feel tired, but so can living a more sedentary lifestyle than you’re used to. If you don’t exercise regularly, your body will feel more tired when you do move.

Plus, if you’re not exercising enough, your body might not be able to get a good sleep at night, and that can make you feel tired the next day.

Even a short 20-minute exercise period 3 -4 times a week can help you feel more energetic and improve your sleep at night.

You Have a Medical Condition

Certain medical conditions can cause fatigue, overall tiredness, and other issues. If you’re feeling unwell or if you’re very tired and you can’t think of a reason why, it could be a good idea to talk to a medical professional.

A doctor can check to see if you have any medical conditions and help you understand the lifestyle or nutritional issues that could be causing your fatigue.
